Designed by Russ Kommer from Anchorage Alaska, the Bear Claw has become a favorite of bush pilots and commercial fisherman. The serrated blade makes a quick and useful utility knife. But this versatile knife now comes with a blunt tip making it perfect for emergency personnel and recreationists like rafters and parachutists. The serrated blade is designed for ripping quickly when your life (or someone else's) depends on it, without inflicting unintended damage. We ripped through an 11mm climbing rope in one easy motion, which should give you peace of mind if you are ever on the wrong end of a boat flip with loose and potentially dangerous lines. The Bear Claw positively locks into a high impact Zytel sheath with a clip that can be installed right side up or down, which is important for those who need to hang the knife upside down on a PFD. The sheath also has belting slots, lanyard holes and a lanyard to permit a variety of carrying positions. The Bear Claw comes in either blunt-tip or sharp tip.
